This occurred after he presented at the Hospital de San Paulo for studies on a thrombosis in his left leg. During the process, doctors decided to perform a full-body MRI, which detected a severe cardiac problem, observing that a very high percentage of his heart was not functioning correctly. Therefore, they decided to perform an urgent operation to place a catheter. The surgery lasted almost three hours, not the forty minutes as had been planned, due to complications that arose during the surgical procedure. Fortunately, the operation was successful, and the three-time European champion with Real Madrid is out of danger.
